Bruno Lafont

Chief Executive Officer


Bruno Lafont has been a member of the Board of Directors of Lafarge since 2005, CEO since 2006 and Chairman of the Board since 2007.

He began his career at Lafarge in 1983 and has held various positions in finance and international operations.

In 1995 he became Group CFO, and in 1998 Executive Vice President of the Gypsum Division. He joined the Group's General Management as COO in 2003. Bruno Lafont is also a member of the Board of Directors of EDF, ArcelorMittal and Lafarge Shui On Cement, in China (a Group company).

He is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Business Council of Sustainable Development (WBCSD) where he co-chairs the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) and the Energy Efficiency in Buildings Project (EEB).

Bruno Lafont also chairs the "Energy and Climate working group" of the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT) and the Sustainable Development commission of the Medef (the French employers' organization).

He is a special advisor to the Mayor of Chongqing, China.

Born in 1956, Bruno Lafont is a French national.

He holds degrees from the Hautes Études Commerciales Business School, Paris, and the École Nationale d'Administration, Paris.
