Due to open in Fall 2017, 17 hectares of countryside in Aix-en-Provence in southern France have become home to The Camp, an innovation hub that will foster openness of thought through openness of design.
The Camp offers outstanding resources to entrepreneurs, industry experts and students to help them create and learn together, and most importantly to facilitate the sharing of innovative solutions to tomorrow’s questions.
The project’s design reflects this key cause of sharing innovation: it is exemplary in terms of aesthetics, environmental performance and landscape innovation. It’s DNA is built on both traditional concrete and cutting-edge technology; a 3D scanned image of the construction site was created using 100 drone images. LafargeHolcim supplied a total of 4,167 m³ of cast concrete for the buildings, which include a maker-lab, innovative sports amenities, meditation areas, and an open-air theater.
