On April 28th, Lafarge and two of its foreign subsidiaries sold 1.9 million treasury shares to institutional investors.
After the completion of the transaction, the number of LAFARGE shares outstanding is increased to 98.9.
Total proceed amount to approximately 178 million euros. These proceeds will be used to finance part of the 1 billion Euros acquisition program announced for 1999.
Morgan Stanley Dean Witter acted as sole bookrunner in respect of the sale.
