Concrete, a potash mine's key ingredient

26 June 2015

MOSAIC is one of the biggest potash producers worldwide. At its Esterhazy mine (Canada), the 114-meter head frame, accessory buildings and mine shaft required a 60,000-m3 concrete volume.
LafargeHolcim delivered 1,000 m3 of concrete per day, while also supplying cement and fly ash. To guarantee a constant supply of materials, we installed three mobile auxiliary cement storage vessels on site.
As a result of this successful project, Esterhazy’s vertical head frame is now one of the tallest in the world.
