Participation in an historical project with the Suez Canal

17 November 1979

An historical major project for LafargeHolcim: the Suez canal in Egypt.

200,000 tons of hydraulic lime, delivered in wooden barrels, were needed to build the piers of the Suez canal.

Although its production capacity was limited to just 20 kilns, which produced 50,000 tons per year, LafargeHolcim rose to the challenge.
