Lafarge has announced that it has acquired the Kloeber Group, a family owned German manufacturer of roofing components. Headquartered in Ennepetal, Kloeber has annual sales of over 50 million euros and a workforce of 360 employees. The integration process has started and will be completed, by the end of this year.
Now part of the Roofing Division of Lafarge, Kloeber owns two plants in Germany (Ennepetal and Pölzig), a Joint Venture in South Africa and has sales organisations in several European countries.
Lafarge Roofing and Kloeber having worked for years in similar fields, synergies will come from the consolidation of the experience they have acquired in product development and production technology and from optimization of the industrial network.
Bertrand Collomb, Chairman and CEO of Lafarge said : " This acquisition will consolidate the leadership position of the Roofing Division of Lafarge by providing even more unique solutions to the customers".
Commenting about the Lafarge Roofing strategy and the complementarity of this acquisition, Dr. Ulrich Glaunach, Executive Vice President of Lafarge and CEO of Lafarge Roofing stated : " With our system brands (e.g. Braas and RuppKeramik in Germany, Lafarge Couverture in France, Redland in the UK), Lafarge Roofing will offer complete roof solutions ; the acquisition will allow the Division to complement this offer with universal accessories under the brand name Kloeber ".
