Bertrand Collomb, Chairman and CEO of Lafarge wishes to announce the following appointments :
Philippe Rollier was appointed by the Board of Directors of Lafarge Corporation (the North American subsidiary of Lafarge) President and CEO of this company, effective 8 May 2001. He will replace John M. Piecuch, President and CEO of Lafarge Corporation since 1996 who is resigning his position and leaving the company to pursue other interests. Philippe Rollier was, since 1995, Regional President of the Central Europe and CIS zone (Confederation of Independent States) for cement, aggregates & concrete. He will be based in Washington.
Yves de Clerck, currently Group Executive Vice President (Cement Division) will replace Philippe Rollier as Regional President of the Central Europe and CIS zone for cement, aggregates & concrete. He will be based in Paris and his appointment will be effective 1 March 2001.
Isidoro Miranda, CEO of Lafarge Asland (the Spanish subsidiary of Lafarge), is appointed Group Executive Vice President (Cement division), effective 1 March 2001, and will therefore replace Yves de Clerck. Isidoro Miranda will be member of the Executive Committee of Lafarge and he will be based in Paris.
