Ukraine: LafargeHolcim cements at the heart of Euro 2012

26 August 2012

LafargeHolcim in Ukraine put its name on the winning list of the 14th UEFA Football Championship, which took place in Poland and Ukraine in 2012.

LafargeHolcim's cement business line scored twice during the tournament:

  • for the Arena Lviv, by supplying a CEM II/A-S 32.5 cement for the basement. The 30,000-seat stadium hosted matches opposing Denmark, Germany and Portugal during the group stage;
  • for Lviv airport, by providing 100 % of the cement required for the construction. The cements used for the project were a CEM II / AS 32.5 and a CEM I 42.5, the latter being particularly adapted to the special requirements for the airport runway.

For the 2 projects combined, the total volumes of delivered cement reached 140,000 tons. What a great shot!
