LafargeHolcim supports the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (Global ABC)

15 October 2018

Facilitating the transition towards more efficient and resilient buildings, LafargeHolcim is participating in the WBCSD project ‘Science-based targets for the buildings and construction sector’.

The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction was established in 2015 to facilitate the global transition towards zero-emission, efficient and resilient buildings, with the support of its diverse network of over 25 countries and +70 organizations. Together they publish the Global Status Report annually, a global review of progress in the buildings and construction sector and recommendations for policymakers for future efficiency gains.

LafargeHolcim actively contributes to the WBCSD project ‘Science-based targets for the buildings and construction sector’ (SBT4buildings), which is directly linked to the Global ABC ‘Market Transformation’ workstream.

In SBT4buildings, LafargeHolcim together with WBCSD and other industry partners are mapping carbon emissions and interdependencies across the value chain. The target is to have one ‘common language’ (indicator and scope) on carbon performance in the construction sector.
