There really is no place like home, so tap your ruby slippers and come with us on a tour of three of our favorite concrete houses from around the world. 👠Where did the concrete come from? LafargeHolcim! High above the upper Rhine valley, on the slopes of Hochwang mountain, sits this three-storey detached house, designed by architect Patrick Gartmann. Only a few mostly untreated materials were used in its construction, such as the gorgeous exposed concrete which is totally transformed by the light streaming through the windows. The sculpted outer form of the house is through the use of a single, solid material – concrete.
