Pervious concrete for enhanced stormwater solutions in Minnesota

23 April 2010

The City of Shoreview, Minnesota has committed to sustainable development with this pervious concrete project using LafargeHolcim's cement.

The pervious concrete was placed on a layer of aggregate. Pervious concrete enables surface water to pass through the concrete matrix as well as the aggregate below. It can eliminate the need for stormwater retention ponds and contributes to improved land management.

LafargeHolcim's cement was used in the 1,350 m³ (1,800 yd³) of concrete required for the roadway.
