Bardon Hill Quarry has been run by Aggregate Industries for more than 100 years. Such assets are a core part of how LafargeHolcim contributes to major building and infrastructure projects across the country. Every year, in addition to selling 31 million tonnes of aggregates, Aggregate Industries sells 2.3 million tonnes of cement and 2.7 million cubic meters of ready-mix concrete.

Bardon Hill rocks formed from a volcano approximately 570 million years ago.
Rocks have been extracted from Bardon Hill for more than 400 years.
Bardon Hill is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to veins of quartz containing copper and gold.
The quarry is undergoing an extension with a lifespan of 30 years
Upon opening of the extension in 2019, Bardon Hill will be the largest new hard rock quarry in Europe
Aggregate Industries has agreed to infill and the create a nature reserve when the existing quarry is exhausted
