Sustainable road-building is essential to building the circulatory system of the green city. Pedestrians, cyclists and roads should all enjoy equal access to safe, durable and eco-friendly pathways for work and pleasure. With infrastructure, there’s no such thing as “one size fits all.”

Soil stabilization is an effective way to reduce CO2 emissions in road construction. Hydraulic binders like Doroport and Dorosol stabilize the ground and prepare it for the project. For a net zero road pavement, Green City used SuperLow, the industry’s first carbon neutral asphalt. It is manufactured at reduced temperatures and the remaining emissions are offset through climate projects. SuperLow can cool quicker, meaning less time for road repairs.

Ports are the critical interface between marine and land transport. Just as the airport is the hub for cargo with a high cost-to-volume ratio, so ports are critical for their opposite -- such as raw materials for heavy industry. Airports are normally symbols of the green city’s arrival on the world stage and aesthetics are no small consideration. Expansion projects

Growth means more efficient and larger airports but upgrade and expansion projects are typically costly and lengthy. Not in Green City. Here we use Chronolia high early strength concrete to gain time (3-5 times faster than standard concrete), reduce cost and avoid close contact between workers on site. It’s perfect for projects on a tight schedule or which have experienced disruptions, and to improve quality in key airport surfaces such as the apron.

Sustainable urban living is a combination of many factors, beginning with the homes we live in and the materials we use to build them. We need to apply low-carbon and circular solutions wherever possible, lower the carbon and energy intensity of our homes over their lifecycle, and look to recycling the construction and demolition waste when they finally are replaced.

Susteno cement, the first and only resource-saving cement in Europe that uses fine mixed granulate from demolished buildings as an additive, is the perfect foundation for building green and circular housing in Green City. 

To insulate those homes, Airium mineral foam has a lower CO2 footprint over its lifecycle than traditional insulating products, on top of offering better air quality and higher energy savings.

Insulation helps keep interiors cool, thus reducing energy consumption from air conditioning and other cooling technology. Airium's special quality is that it can be used to insulate and build at the same time, saving both time and materials. Walls can be built in different ways, and we have sustainable solutions for each of them. With Airium bricks you can build and insulate at the same time. With the dry mortar 3D printing solution Tector you will optimize the materials used and minimize the risk of construction errors. Finally, special masonry cements such as Maestro or Forte reduce the carbon footprint and the amount of materials needed per m2, while offering faster and better workability.

Thanks to the combination of Hydromedia permeable concrete and Siplast Waterproof System, ROOFTOP duo TM offers an efficient water management system which is applicable to walking and parking areas too. And for roof renovation, you could use Airium which insulates and builds at the same time.

We offer different sustainable solutions for smooth and finished floors. Self-levelling and self-placing Agilia concretes and screeds naturally flow and spread effortlessly, reducing worksites noise, manual placement and vibrations. Thermedia improves insulation and energy performance, reducing heat loss by up to 35% and helping achieve the most advanced international environmental certifications.

Ductal structural overlay forms a thin, watertight layer that can withstand freeze and thaw cycles while resisting chloride penetration from de-icing salts.
