Connecting communities in Ecuador

It’s easy to take roads for granted, but good roads are vital for communities all around the world. In Santa Elena, Holcim Ecuador helped build an 8km road that is a game-changer for local communities.

Material choice is not just about the construction project, but about future benefits. The cement used for this road in Ecuador, Holcim MH Base Road, was a great solution to match the project requirements and reduce future maintenance costs. The project was about transforming a dirt road into a connective infrastructure to link the communities of Chanduy and Tugaduaja and help trade to develop. The project has enabled local communities to have a safer and faster trading route, and save vehicle maintenance for years to come.
